Photos of the seven balayogis who sat in tapas around the same time as Shivabalayogi and in the same general area of the Godavari River delta.

The meaning of balayogi in this context (literally, "boy yogi") is one who sits for tapas while still a boy.

Of the seven boys, only Mummidivaram Balayogi (center) and Shivabalayogi (top left) successfully completed tapas.

Four were murdered during their tapas, and the seventh apparently continued his quest but we do not know more.

Mummidivaram Balayogi completed twelve years of tapas to the east.  Only Shivabalayogi completed tapas in all four directions.

This image is taken from a photocopy of a printed flyer, a collage probably prepared by devotees of Mummidivaram Balayogi whose picture is placed prominently in the middle.
